Dome Shelters for Disaster Relief

A few sketches, taken from the "Building System" Formwork Patent
When there is a fire they are shelter for people to save lives, and use them to store your personal items.
To expand your thoughts Dome concrete Shelters could be used for a storage shed on farms then backup as fire-proof shelters

This Patent form-work is a way to complete a Dome Shell simply and inexpensive.
Individual rooms can be incorporated into the Dome when complete.

When there is a fires out of control in our Bush (Forrest) we need shelters to save lives.
People need shelters that are simple to build, inexpensive and permanent, that will continue being a safe shelters for generations.
Shelters are needed world wide, it is obvious there are more Tornadoes and earthquakes in recent years. Shelters and safe housing should be a Priority in every Country, not wait for a disaster to happen, and what better way is there to protect people.

Building domes with this Form-work is a simple procedure, firstly a Center pole is set into concrete at a center position where you would build the Shelter or Home, when it is set a small trough footing form-work is hung from the pole, concrete is placed into the footing form-work as it turns around the center pole, in a perfect circle, and completely level.
Once the footing is set, the Dome Form-work is hung from the center pole and the base turns around the circular footing on wheels, each section is covered with steel reinforcing and sprayed with concrete, I believe the process takes about two hours for the concrete to set, then the form-work is pushed to the next section and the process is repeated eight times until finished.
Doors and windows are formed onto the form-work as needed.

When complete the ceiling is smooth and needs no rendering, there is no need for gutters, it can be completely locked down in-case of a fire or Tornado, there is a center hole in the top for ventilation, with air vents around the base for the flow of air, they are much cooler than conventional homes.

Heat does not get trapped in to a ceiling as there is none, hot air flows up the walls inside the dome and escapes through the center hole in the top of the dome, should the finished Dome Shell be divided into rooms and there was a fire in one of the rooms it will not spread to the other rooms and the smoke will flow out the top, it is particularly safe for children, unlike conventional home.

A comment from a Woman in the Government Housing, planning Dep. Western Australia, when I suggested to her about the Dome Concept, her reply was dome houses would not look good and fit into the streets, I was talking about safety first, and she was thinking and talking about what they would look like, Safety was not on her mind, as with many people who don't have the foresight, to think outside the circle.
Since then my thoughts have gone from Dome Housing to Dome shelters, as this Form-work is good for both. It might be easier to get through to peoples who are not logic by starting small, especially when it comes to those in Authority. Safe Shelters are needed now with all the Fires and Disasters in Australia and around the world, as we have just seen in the Philippines, Dome buildings would be ideal for future Homes, when they rebuild

These dome building are innovative and practical, I believe my Dome Form-work could be incorporated into building these Dome Air-Crete Homes.
